Privacy Policy

Pea (Personal Executive Assistant) is a voice-first productivity app built and operated by Jacob Teulon ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data Pea collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

2. What data Pea collects

2.1 Account data

When you create an account, Pea stores your email address (for sign-in), your display name (optional, used to personalise greetings), and your timezone (used to schedule sessions correctly).

2.2 Voice recordings

When you use a voice-input session, Pea records audio from your microphone, transmits it encrypted to OpenAI Whisper for transcription, and does not store the raw audio — only the resulting transcript text is retained.

2.3 Session transcripts and summaries

Pea stores the text of your sessions: questions asked, your responses, and AI-generated summaries. You can configure how long transcripts are kept (see section 6).

2.4 Tasks, habits, and projects

Pea stores structured data you create: task names, due dates, priorities, completion status, habit definitions and streaks, project names and deliverables.

2.5 Calendar data (optional)

If you grant calendar access, Pea reads event titles and times for the current and next day to include in your morning briefing. Calendar data is included in the text sent to the AI for session processing but is not stored independently.

2.6 Camera and photo library (optional)

If you use the photo capture feature, Pea accesses your camera or photo library to capture an image. The image is sent to Anthropic Claude for analysis and task extraction. Pea does not store the raw image beyond the processing request.

2.7 Notification preferences

Pea stores your preferred morning and evening session times to schedule push notifications.

2.8 Usage and error logs

Pea collects basic error logs for debugging. These do not contain the content of your conversations.

3. How your data is processed

3.1 AI processing — Anthropic Claude

Session text, task context, and calendar context is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate briefings, extract tasks, and respond in chat. Data sent to Anthropic is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.

3.2 Transcription — OpenAI Whisper

Voice recordings are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for speech-to-text conversion. Audio is not retained by Pea after transcription. Data processed by OpenAI is governed by OpenAI's privacy policy.

3.3 Voice synthesis — ElevenLabs (optional)

If you enable spoken AI responses, generated text is sent to ElevenLabs for text-to-speech synthesis. Data processed by ElevenLabs is governed by ElevenLabs' privacy policy.

3.4 No client-side AI keys

API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, and ElevenLabs are stored only in server-side Edge Functions. They are never embedded in the app binary and never transmitted to your device.

4. Data storage

All user data is stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database (hosted on Neon, EU region). Data is encrypted at rest, transmitted over TLS/HTTPS, and isolated by user account via row-level security.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the processors below, for the specific purposes described:

6. Retention

You can configure how long Pea keeps your session transcripts — summaries only, full transcripts, or a custom number of days. Structured data (tasks, habits, projects) is kept until you delete it or your account. When you delete your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data, and to withdraw optional permissions (microphone, calendar, camera) at any time via iOS Settings. For users in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR. To exercise any right, email jacobteulon@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Pea is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has created an account.

9. Advertising

Pea does not serve advertising. We do not share your data with advertising networks or use it to build advertising profiles.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app and update the "Last updated" date above.
